Job Description

My client has a reputation for quality of product, sustainable operations and innovation and is a leading brand in their product category. We are currently looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Manufacturing Manager to join their team!

The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for managing the processing and engineering functions within their processing site, ensuring the business produces quality packed product.

The role:
Managing processing operations to ensure the highest quality and service for our customers.
Liaison with farms, sales and third-party customers regarding volumes, customer requirements and logistics.
Compiling processing records and reporting to the processing director weekly.
Ensuring compliance with company and legal health and safety policies.
Managing a team of engineers and ensuring preventative maintenance is conducted on equipment and plant as per schedules.
To ensure operational performance through efficient and effective use of the plant, and people resources whilst maintaining Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
Manage the management team/processing operatives (in conjunction with HR manager) basing all decisions around fairness, integrity, and respect.
Ensure operations are conducted in compliance with product specifications, quality, and food standards legislation.
HACCP team member.

The candidate:
Preferred to have experience working in a fast-paced food production environment.
Preferred to have experience of salmon and trout primary processing.
A strong and inspirational leader who sets the highest of examples in all facets of the role
Flexibility in being able to manage a number of priorities and agendas
Demonstrates positive measured behaviours aligned to a senior management position
Sets the example for others to follow
Shows enthusiasm and willingness in getting the job done
Achieves high challenging goals with appropriate measures

Contributes to overall drive within the business including contribution to areas outside of their immediate area of responsibilities

Standard working hours are 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday 2 pm to 10 pm. Flexibility for business position demands are required.
