Position: Maintenance Engineer
Location: South Shields
Salary: £42,000 – £43,000 per annum
Shift: Monday to Friday, 8am – 4pm (flexible)

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Maintenance Engineer at their food manufacturing facility, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the production lines and equipment. Your expertise will be essential in minimizing downtime, optimizing equipment performance, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on production machinery and equipment.
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, implementing timely solutions.
Conduct preventive maintenance tasks to prevent equipment breakdowns and ensure reliability.
Collaborate with the production team to address maintenance needs without disrupting the production schedule.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer within manufacturing, food manufacturing is desirable
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Time Served Apprenticeship.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to maintenance.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
