Buyer / Senior Buyer
£35k - £45k + Bonus + Pension
Warwickshire

My client is an expanding FMCG business working within market verticals of discount retailers, distributors and manufacturing looking to expand the buying team due to growth and expansion.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities include:
•Delivery of agreed annual budgetary targets for all Supplier terms
•Increase business with existing Supply Base and develop any new opportunities in line with new profit guidelines with at all times a strategic and joint business plan approach.
•Improve cash flow by managing and reducing Supplier aged /disputed debt
•Be able to communicate and negotiate at all levels both internally and externally.
•Category Management approach, providing Customers with a tailored range of products and promotions that suits their individual needs.
•Negotiate with suppliers to deliver the most competitive pricing and profit levels.
•Recover all costs associated with residuals, overstocks and out of date stock.
•Have the ability to prioritise and make effective commercial decisions
•Achieve all deadlines in relation to promo books, sales aids
•Develop and manage a clear communication channel between Central and all supported Customers both internally and externally

Key Skills/ Experience:
•A minimum of 3 years’ experience gained within a Buying & Commercial role
•Be able to negotiate and influence effectively at all levels
•Good commercial awareness and background
•High level of numerical ability, accuracy and attention to detail
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
•Have the ability to prioritise and make effective commercial decisions
•Self - Motivated and flexible to change
•Ability to build relationships and liaise effectively with a variety of networks
•Forecasting and analytical skills
•Awareness of Quality procedures and the need for Quality focus
•Be a strong Team player
•Have effective presentation skills
