Job Description

Our client has multiple sites around Scotland. The Food Industry is very fast paced, demanding, and constantly developing, therefore the people the company looks to join them must have a great personality and the drive to exceed the customers’ expectations.

A new vacancy has arisen to join the company’s busy team, the role available is a Hygiene Supervisor and is situated in the North of Scotland – a more specific location is available on the application. The Hygiene Supervisor is responsible for managing a team of hygiene cleaners in order to maintain and improve hygiene standards within the factory.

The Role:

• Ensuring the production area is cleaned to an exceptionally high standard using the appropriate cleaning methods.
• Ensuring attention to detail is met when breaking down machines, cleaning and then reassembling them. Including ensuring the reassembly instructions are followed.
• Immediately reporting to the Engineering Team Leader if any equipment is broken or damaged.
• Ensuring the hygiene cleaners are working to their optimum by providing them with clear instructions regarding the tasks to complete.
• Leading by example by showing hygiene cleaners how to clean machines and areas thoroughly and in the proper manner i.e. ensure no product waste such as batter is poured down the drains, and showing them how to scan areas and identify new or different parts or sections to clean.
• Undertake any hygiene/cleaning related tasks as requested and/or directed by other departments and/or senior managers.
• Work to Health and Safety and Food Safety Standards, and where possible exceed requirements.
• Lead, supervise and motivate hygiene cleaners and chargehands.

The Candidate:

• Awareness of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP).
• Understanding of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.
• Knowledge of recent hygiene legislation.
• Awareness of Health and Safety legislation and regulations.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Food Safety Certificate.
• Experience working within a Hygiene Department in the food industry.
• Strong planning and organisational skills with a sense of priority for deadlines and attention to detail.
• Have a professional approach and attitude.
