Our client is one of the UK’s leading food brands. The food industry is very fast paced, demanding, and constantly developing, therefore the people the company looks to join them have a great personality and the drive to exceed the customers’ expectations.

A new vacancy has arisen to join the company’s busy team, the role available is a HR Business Partner and is situated in Glasgow Region – a more specific location is available on the application. The HRBP is responsible to coordinate the people agenda across the specific business unit(s) adopting a proactive, partnership approach. Coaching and supporting line management (up to and including Area Managers / Heads of Production / Operations Managers / General Managers) on HR issues and policies across the full employee lifecycle. Focusing on working together to ensure effective communication, strong engagement and policy compliance across the business unit. Supporting the Senior HR Team to drive the people agenda, lead and deliver on short-term projects including supporting line management in their ownership of people processes.

The Role:
• Improvement – understands the operational issues and priorities within specific business unit(s).
• Line Manager Support – Provides support, coaching and training to Line Managers to give them confidence to manage their HR processes across Recruitment and Selection, Disciplinary, Grievance and Conflict Handling, Communications, Absence Management and OH and wellbeing.
• Team Development – Ensure that training needs are identified, agreed and satisfied for all levels up of Managers through the various performance and appraisals systems. Proactively manages poor performance in partnership with Line Managers.
• Resource Management – Proactively and creatively support the Central HR Team to resource vacancies up to Area Managers / Department Managers.
• KPI’s and Analytics – Review and take action against functional operational KPIs (i.e WTD and Absence) to drive performance improvements. Escalate issues as required, making proactive recommendations. Write reports and provide statistical information as required.
• HR Standards – delivers agreed actions linked to the HR Strategy and People Plans to exceed objectives. Ensure all audit standards in relation to labour and ethical standards are maintained and play a central role in managing audits. Undertake project work as required.
• HR Processes, Standards & Systems – ensure all day-to-day HR activities meets all legal requirements and reflects the companies values. Proactively manage absence management processes in partnership with line managers.
• Employee Relations – proactively support effective Employee Forums to ensure we have an informed workforce and develop a continuous improvement culture that supports a people focused approach.

The Candidate:
• Experience in a front-line HR Generalist role, ideally CIPD qualified.
• Experience of working in a multi-site or production environment.
• Ability to travel to sites on a regular basis
• Customer focused, energetic, positive, adaptable and resilient.
• Proactive, with the ability to recognise problems before they become an issue.
• Sound knowledge and understanding of UK Employment Legislation, with a track record of implementing a standardised approach to people management practices and case management experience.
• Ability to make an impact, make things happen and drive change.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrable experience of coaching, challenging and influencing Managers proactively.
• Highly organised, self-sufficient with ability to manage multiple priorities and re-prioritise quickly.
• Experience of influencing change and implementing centrally supported policies.
