Job Description

I have a new and exciting Engineering/Maintenance Management opportunity within a long standing food manufacturing business undergoing significant development.

Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the purpose of this position is to lead and develop an existing engineering team, along with the scope to develop a new team due to ongoing expansion.

The Engineering Manager is a key member of the Site Leadership Team and is responsible for the site maintenance strategy to ensure the engineering function delivers continuous improvement in maintenance, equipment performance, manufacturing efficiencies, technical elements of site safety, facilities management and leadership of the engineering team.

Experience:

-Previous experience of developing and delivering a maintenance strategy within a manufacturing / factory environment (preferably within FMCG) to ensure a planned pro-active maintenance approach with reduced reactive interventions
-Management of financial budgets, suppliers and complex projects
-People management experience including the development and succession planning of an engineering team
-Experience of maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) parts management and process adherence
-Strong internal customer focus with the ability to adapt to variable demands of the business

Qualifications / Competencies:

-An appropriate Technical Qualification (BTEC HNC or Engineering degree)

-Working knowledge of current legislations and demonstrable compliance of quality systems and safe system of work and practices.

-Understanding of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Six Sigma principles and practices

-Effective communicator with ability to influence, persuade and lead at all levels

-Decisive, pro-active and self-motivated individual who works well under pressure

-IT Literate – Word, Excel and PowerPoint

• Been involved in the close management of engineering teams.
• A hands on management style, able to assist in engineering tasks.
• Apprentice served or similar qualifications
• Great judgement, passion for results
• Integrity and teamwork
