Currently there is a small team of 20 within the business, with a number of roles/teams having (up until now) been outsourced. The Technical function has been looked after by an external consultancy company, with this they have achieved BRC accreditation at Grade A, with further processes implemented they are now looking to achieve Grade AA in their next audit (due December). They are now looking to bring the Technical function in house, starting with this position (and a couple of QA’s). This position will be responsible for all elements of Technical, including but not limited to:-
- Food safety, compliance
- Responsible for BRC and all other relevant accreditation and certification bodies – implementation of relevant policies and procedures, gap analysis, leading audits
- QMS Management
- Internal Audit management
- Controlling all the factory procedures i.e. traceability etc.
- Product specifications
- Set and improve strong food safety management policy and operational standards
- Supplier approval and ongoing management
- Customer point of contact and relationship management
Once settled, they will look to grow this team further, with additional supporting roles.
You will ideally be a Food Graduate with a couple of years’ experience, and a desire & hunger to learn and develop. You’ll need to be ready (with ongoing training and support) to take a step into a more challenging role, take ownership of your own work and work with the management team collectively to guide them on all areas of food safety. You’ll need to be flexible, pragmatic and solutions focused, you’ll have a great teamwork ethic enabling you to collaborate with other departments to solve problems.
You’ll be working alongside a growing business, playing an integral and pivotal role in their growth and development as a company. You will have a significant impact within the business, and they will contribute to your learning and development, with a progression route to being part of the Senior Management Team within a couple of years. Factory hours of operation are 7am – 10pm with core office hours being 9am – 6pm. They are happy to be flexible with start/finish times to accommodate your life – as long as you work 8 hours per day, and the work gets done! You will enjoy salary reviews as the business and the role continue to grow and develop.
