This is an exciting opportunity for a Engineering Manager to join one of Scotland’s well-known Food Manufacturing Companies.
This role is based in the North of Scotland – a more specific location is available on the application.
The Role
The Engineering Manager will work alongside and report into the Chief Engineer. A key element of this role is to ensure the efficient running of the production facility, whilst managing projects and ensuring timelines are adhered to.
Key Responsibilities
? Working closely with the other members of the senior engineering management team and supporting and assisting them as and when required.
? Liaising with the production department to maximise production, equipment availability and minimise downtime, with a hands-on approach and leading by example.
? Helping to ensure that all equipment is maintained and is in good working order.
? Ensuring engineering solutions are put in place to permanently fix breakdowns/failures and that the root cause is identified and addressed.
? Maintaining records.
? Aiding with maintenance of all appropriate accreditations.
? Managing and controlling projects from conception through to production.
? Managing multiple facets of projects simultaneously.
? Ensuring all facets projects are delivered on time and within budget.
? Creating, requesting, and analysing quote and tender submissions.
? Supervising external suppliers and contractors within all site activities and operations to make daily production and maintenance requirements of the factory.
? Managing change requests.
? Investigating problems and/or complaints.
? Assisting with the specification and design of new machinery.
? Coordinating and managing all external Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE) and enabling work suppliers.
Desirable Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience
? Formal engineering qualification to at least City and Guilds level, ONC/HNC level or equivalent or extensive experience working as an engineer in a manufacturing environment.
? A sound knowledge of continuous improvement techniques such as root causes analysis, machinery reliability, maintenance etc.
? Extensive project management experience.
? Knowledge and experience of the machinery in a modern processing plant is essential.
? Management experience is essential.
? Previous experience of food processing equipment is essential.
? Experience of working within a FMCG is essential.

Hours of Work
? Your normal contractual hours of work are 45 hours per week. You will work five days in any seven and you will work nine hours per day. Your working times will vary and will depend on the demands of the role and the needs of the business. However, it is anticipated your normal working hours will be 08.00 – 17.00 Monday to Friday.

? There will be a requirement for the post holder to be flexible with their working hours to fit with the needs of the project and the business.
? Full driving licence would be preferred.
? The post holder must be willing to travel as and when it is required.
