If so, we invite you to consider a challenging and rewarding opportunity as a Head of Engineering & Projects at a chilled and frozen food manufacturer in London.
Position Overview:
As the Head of Engineering & Projects, you will play a pivotal role in leading our engineering activities to ensure efficient, on-target production by maintaining assets and complying with regulatory requirements. You will oversee capital expenditure projects, machinery maintenance, team management, and health and safety initiatives, contributing to the success and safety of our manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• CAPEX & Project Manager:
• Oversee the next steps for capital expenditure projects.
• Machinery and Maintenance:
• Plan, agree, and monitor maintenance expenditure.
• Coordinate with production to ensure planned maintenance, engineering, and production priorities are aligned.
• Source new/used machinery for the factory to drive continuous improvements or specific projects.
• Collaborate with the Maintenance Engineer to ensure reactive maintenance is carried out on all machinery components.
• Ensure all equipment operates to specified performance criteria and adheres to company standards.

Team Management:
• Train and support the Maintenance Engineer with larger and complex tasks.
• Define performance expectations and key performance indicators (KPIs) in agreement with the Maintenance Engineer.
• Identify areas for improvement and manage performance.
• Health & Safety:
• Ensure that all health and safety procedures and engineering best practices are followed at all times.

Person Specification:
• Electrical and Mechanical Engineering knowledge.
• Apprenticeship, HNC, HND, or ONC level of qualification within an engineering discipline.
• Some experience working within a manufacturing site, with a preference for experience in food manufacturing.

Training provided by the Company:
• Food safety.
• HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points).
• Forklift operation.
• Specific machinery training.
• Health & Safety Management.
