Despatch Manager, Scotland

Our client, a well-known and well-regarded food business based in Scotland are currently seeking a Despatch Manager.
My client is one of the major suppliers of fresh vegetables in the UK. They are a dynamic and customer-focused business and these are exactly the kind of qualities they look for in their employees.
Reporting into the Procurement & Logistics Manager, you will be taking responsibility to run the department in a manner that ensures the product is dispatched on time, collected and delivered as requested in the most cost efficient manner. Whilst meeting the standards required by Customer, Company and Site. You will be responsible for delivering KPI’s in line with site strategy along with implementing and leading continuous improvement projects throughout the department.
Liaise with Production departments and haulage companies to ensure full service level to the business’ customers.
Organise and develop the Despatch team to effectively deliver the daily picking and outloading plan.
Ensure compliance with retailer codes of practice and requirements.
Develop and automate processes in the department to improve operational effectiveness.
Plan for peak period operations.
Experience of operating at a Supervisor or Manager level in a despatch/logistics/picking environment.
Fork Lift Truck experience and qualification
Food manufacturing industry experienced preferred
Experience of CI or lean
Great Communication skills
Ability to thrive under pressure
