Job Role: Design Engineer
Reports To: Senior Design Engineer & Engineering Manager
Reportees: None
Salary: £32,000 – £37,000
Hours of work: 37.5 hrs per week Mon to Friday – 08:00 to 16:30
Holidays: 25 days + 8 statutory bank holidays.

My client Limited is an industry leading manufacturer supplying the hospitality industry. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitable candidate to join the NPD and engineering department in the role of Design Engineer within this well established and continually expanding business.
Brief Job Description
Working alongside a multi-disciplined team, undertaking electrical/mechanical product design activities for new & existing products.
Supporting the production and manufacturing areas within the business
Forming part of the product design team to manage New Product Introduction (NPI).

• Coordinate and manage projects.
• Provide updates at team meetings.
• Producing and updating BoM's for manufacturing and costs.
• Maintenance of Engineering Changes

Education:
• HND/Degree.
• Minimum 5 years industry experience.

Skills required:
• Good understanding of project management.
• Experienced in 3D CAD software, Autodesk Inventor & Vault or similar package.
• Producing engineering drawings.
• Sheet metal design.
• Design for manufacture.
• Electrical knowledge (BS EN 60335, LVD etc.).
• Business Management Software (ERP).
• Lean principles.
• Knowledge of refrigeration theory is desirable, but not essential.

• A multi-disciplined engineer with a pro-active and disciplined approach to work.
• Good electrical and mechanical knowledge.
• Ability to problem solve and work under pressure.
• Creative thinker and strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other applications
• Understanding of design and production costs to include waste, downtime, scrap, and re-work.
• Good level of understanding of quality control systems, workflow management and risk analysis.
• Has knowledge of working to directives and standards ensuring product safety.
• Confident in attending meetings at different levels of the business.
• Desire to learn and develop.
