Purpose
This position is a key driver in creating and managing the true customer/consumer demand signals by which the organisation aligns supply chain and company resources. This is a critical role in the beginning of an S&OP process, as revenue and supply plans leverage this information. The Demand Planner is responsible for using data insights to improve forecast accuracy.
Key responsibilities:
• Responsible for managing and maintaining the 0-24 month forecast. Assessing internal information to identify trends and insights that need to be captured in the forward forecast.
• Ensuring accurate and timely information is available to support the S&OP process.
• Drive the accuracy of the Demand Forecast at levels such as Customer, Channel, Category, against target KPI’s. Develop, monitor and communicate reports on changes and forecast accuracy to business unit and supply chain organizations, while driving continuous improvement.
• Ensure Demand Forecast is aligned with Supply Planner to ensure Demand needs are covered in Production Master plan.
• Chair regular Demand Forecast Review meetings with Commercial, Marketing, and Finance Teams. Accountable for building customer and marketing insights, and other business intelligence into the forecast.
• Challenge and influence the Commercial forecast to ensure business performance is aligned to strategy.
• Generate and maintain statistical forecasts, and use phase-in / phase-out, lifecycle and promotional planning methods.
• Measure, analyse and report key process metrics and monitor adherence to key performance indicators.
• Make recommendations to enhance business processes and best practices. Champion Demand Planning through the business.
• As our systems develop, undertake Inventory and Supply Network Planning tasks where needed.
• Provide backfill within the Planning Team where needed.
CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge in demand planning processes, techniques and methodologies and a good knowledge of supply network planning, inventory optimisation and production planning. Hands-on experience with modelling, forecasting, analysis and simulation tools is desirable. You will be forward thinking with strong interpersonal skills.
