We have an exciting opportunity to join our client’s Technical team as Customer and Cross Sell Quality Manager.
In this fast moving, busy and varied role, you will be a vital part of the Technical team reporting to the Head of Technical and responsible for the generation of specifications, answering customer queries particularly for cross selling activities with the companies international group.
The role is primarily site based; however, some home working is permitted and travel to Cross sell manufacturing site during customer audits is likely.
To be a success in this role, you will need to be well organised and be able to prioritise to ensure targets are achieved. You will have strong communication skills and be effective at building relationships. You should have excellent computer skills and would ideally have experience working within the food industry.
The role
Build and maintain relationships with all UK Customers and act as the primary point of contact for all customer queries.
Build and maintain relationships with all Biscuit International (BI) sourcing entities for manufacturing sites suppling UK customers and act as the primary point of contact.
Responsible for ensuring all manufacturing sites are aware of customer codes of practice and supporting all audits where relevant along with close out of any actions.
Working with BI sourcing entities to support the upskilling to UK Customer requirements.
Responsible for answering all customer queries & Specification requests that directly relate UK Customers for product produced either in UK or BI sourcing entities.
Technical representative at C2L Project Meetings, responsible for communicating key details back to wider team.
Responsible for ensuring and where needed the specification generation process from receiving the Product Information Sheet (PIS) at the Industrialise stage of a project through to specification approval. Where relevant creating specifications on various customer portals, TQC, MCreate, Engage, APP, Wave etc within project deadline
For UK produced product work with the site Technical team to manage the projects from PIS issue to Launch.
Support both UK & BI sourcing entities during UK customer audits with portal and specification information.
Responsible for tracking & spend of Specification & Cost of doing business budget. i.e. specification, customer portal, customer audit, customer own testing costs etc
Responsible for managing all UK customer KPI data.
Responsible for ensuring Technical Artwork approval for UK Produced product are completed and overseeing approval for BI
Management, training and development of specification writer.
All reasonable requests made by the Head of Technical or Technical Manager

Required Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum 2 years’ experience in quality / specification role in a food manufacturing environment
Minimum 2 years’ experience in UK Retailer supplier food manufacturing environment
Thorough understanding of retailer practices and frameworks
Food Science related Degree or equivalent
Degree or HND in Food technology or equivalent
Previous experience in Food Raw Materials
Level 3 Food Safety or above
Level 3 HACCP or above
Lead auditor
Computer literacy (Microsoft packages), SharePoint,
Additional desirable Qualifications and Experience:
FSPCA Preventative Controls for Human Food
Understanding of SAP
