Our client is a leading FMCG business in Central London
A vacancy has arisen for a Stock & Purchasing Manager to support the Supply Chain team in a brand new role
The primary focus of the Stock & Purchasing Manager role is to ensure the accurate management of stock and purchasing. The role will be pivotal in ensuring sufficient stock is held in order to meet production requirements while also ensuring that raw materials and packaging are purchased at the best possible prices, along with ensuring that all data relating to stock items are up to date and correct. This is considered a pivotal role within the Company
The Role:
• Ensuring stock receipts are booked in in a timely and accurate manner
• Oversee the booking in of stock to the system ensuring all PO, GRN and invoice matching requirements are met
• Ensuring stock is issued to Production on a timely and well-ordered basis and ensuring that control over the issue of materials is maintained at all times
• Ensuring all stock damages and wastages are correctly booked to the system
• Manage, coordinate and perform all stock takes and cycle counting activities and ensuring the system is in line with counts on a timely basis and perform effective stock reconciliation and monitoring of variances on the system
• Maintaining required stock levels to ensure that stock is available for production at all times and plan Inventory management processes to avoid shortages and excesses
• Investigate material shortages and analyse root causes and identify solutions to avoid and investigate loss of goods
• Running MRP in order to generate the purchasing recommendations/requirements
• Reviewing the purchasing recommendations and amending accordingly and then generating the Purchase Order list for approval by the Director Responsible for Operations
• Ensuring all approved Purchase Orders are distributed to the correct suppliers in a timely and efficient manner and in accordance with their requirements and lead times
• Informing the Goods In team of the expected deliveries for each day in order to ensure that they are aware of all expected deliveries and are able to ensure the receipt of the goods
• Ensuring all deliveries are made in a timely and accurate manner and liaising with the supplier directly when issues arise
• Use MRP to manage stock and ensure optimal stock holding and materials are ordered in order to meet all production requirements
• Ensuring supplier data is correct, accurate and up to date on the system
• Ensuring the system is up to date for the most recent prices and orders are being raised in accordance with these
• Ensuring all minimum and maximum stock holding requirements are up to date and correct along with supplier lead times
• Ensuring supplier prices are in accordance with those negotiated and in line with what has been entered into the system
• Liaising with suppliers when prices are different to those on the system
• Reporting price increases to the senior management team
• Maintaining relationships with suppliers and challenging all proposed price increases and negotiating any prices changes the Company requires
• Performing all stock and purchasing reporting requirements along with ensuring all KPIs as set are met or bettered
• Working with the Goods In team and technical team to ensure that all requirements are met and stock is managed efficiently and effectively


The Candidate:
• Previous experience of a similar role for at least 2 years is a must
• Working experience within the food industry is a must
• Excellent knowledge of ERP systems
• Fully computer literate with good excel skills
• A high level of administrative skills along with being highly organised and detail focused and methodical
• A proven ability to implement process and controls
• Self-managing and highly self-motivated
• Enthusiastic and passionate with an ability to engage with staff members at all levels within the organisation
• Experience of working and meeting KPIs
• Excellent communication skills
