Our client, are a Market leading FMCG business based in Cheshire, a vacancy has arisen for a Supply Chain Manager to lead the supply chain function

Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Supply Chain Manager will lead the supply chain function in delivering all replenishment and planning activities relative to the effective delivery of short, medium and long term forecast and plan validation. To analyse and report on performance data and continually drive improvements in forecasting and planning of raw materials, consumables and production plans to deliver significant business improvements in efficiency, cost reduction and customer fulfilment.

The Role:

·Lead raw material and planning meetings as appropriate to ensure the effective communication of plans and priorities. Acts as the central communication hub for all planning and material replenishment issues.

·Review costs and make decisions on extra transport costs as required to balance budget and customer demand. Continually review haulier performance and make recommendation on improvements to service and cost.

·Ensure effective management of dairy and consumables within target set. Develop stock usage and stock cover information to allow timely consumable replenishment without holding excessive stocks.

·Generate reports on at risk materials. Communicate potential issues and options to the Planning Manager in a timely manner.

·Manage the ASN and total stock purchase requirements in line with procurement purchasing allocations. Coordinate the team to supply and stock all onsite and offsite stock holding to fulfil order planning.

·Forecast future capacity and labour demands, Identify capacity shortfalls based on budget sales growth by line

·Continually review and challenge forecast v actual accuracy. Communicate changes and put systems in place to effect changes relating to procurement of raw materials and potential commercial opportunities or shortfalls.

·Prioritise and manage performance of the Supply Chain team. Set and review GRID objectives and manage performance in line with KPIs and objectives.

·Put in place training and development opportunities commensurate with role and requirements to drive performance improvements.

·Creation of production plans to achieve 100% fulfilment of order book. Resolution of production planning issues within procedure. Timely escalation of issues relating to non-performance or unavailability of raw material and resolution

The Candidate:

·Demonstrable experience of working within an FMCG manufacturing environment. Strong evidence of working in a high volume supply chain function with extensive planning and forecasting experience. Ideally experience of raw material and consumable procurement, supplier relationship and negotiation.

·Highly analytical and numerate with excellent attention to detail.

·Excellent IT skills and systems knowledge; ideally Oracle or similar to manage internal systems and excel to develop robust analytics and development of accurate KPI reporting

·Demonstrable evidence of applying CI methodologies to conduct analysis and assessment of performance and implement improvement activities within span of control.

·Proven and effective people manager with experience of leading a team of experienced resources. Creates a sense of team and treats others with respect. Is flexible and adapts well to changing work demands. Displays a positive and professional attitude and expects the same from others.

·Provides clear direction and sets objectives. Evaluates performance and acts accordingly. Communicates effectively at all levels and considers others opinions. Establishes effective relationships with multiple stakeholders

·Demonstrates a broad understanding of how a business operates and their role within. Makes quick decisions and makes recommendations on business issues based on experience and judgement. Contributes ideas and evaluates performance. Is able to plan and scope out work to achieve required results. Has strong influencing skills and the ability to negotiate change with the rest of the organisation.

·Delivers results and can be counted on to get things done. Demonstrates an understanding of priorities and identifies potential problems to ensure solutions are in place. Is bottom line orientated. Resilient and independent minded; capable of dealing with pressurised situations and deadlines.
