Job Advert: Category Buyer
Are you a detail-oriented, highly organized individual with a knack for negotiation and a passion for ensuring exceptional customer experiences? We are currently seeking a Category Buyer to join our team at our Head Office in Haslemere. As a Category Buyer, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day buying activities for various product lines, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining strong supplier relationships.
Responsibilities:
Execute the complete buying process for multiple product lines, ensuring timely order placement and delivery.
Monitor supplier performance and take immediate action to address any service issues or negative trends.
Maintain effective communication with colleagues in Supply Chain, Operations, and Customer Services.
Track and expedite PO deliveries when necessary and ensure accurate delivery dates in our system.
Source alternative products when needed and maintain high standards of product quality.
Address supplier delivery errors, returns, and resolve any invoice discrepancies.
Provide valuable input in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
Strong attention to detail and ability to make quick decisions.
Highly organized and self-starting approach.
Customer-centric mindset with a focus on delivering exceptional experiences.
Excellent negotiation skills and a proactive approach to cost reduction.
Adaptable to change and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
Intermediate Excel skills (highly desirable).
Additional Information:
Salary Range: £32,000 – £34,000
Working Hours: 08:00 – 17:00 (1-hour lunch break)
33 days of annual leave, including bank holidays.
Comprehensive benefits package.
Bonus: 10%
