Role Overview:

As a Category Buyer, you'll manage designated Indirect Categories and suppliers, strategizing and implementing world-class procurement approaches. Based at our vibrant East Riding of Yorkshire site, this role offers opportunities for occasional travel across the country.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee designated Indirect Category activity and develop visionary strategies.
• Champion internal customer service, quality, and innovation.
• Align the Supply Base with ethical and environmental policies.
• Create and deliver a cost reduction pipeline, collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate planning and financial information for the Category.
• Implement contingency management strategies for key suppliers.
• Drive continuous improvement and resolve invoice queries.
• Engage stakeholders to deliver a consistent and coherent strategy for the Category.
• Implement best practice buying approaches and manage KPIs with flair.
• Drive value analysis and engineering projects for ongoing innovation.
• Enhance Supplier review processes and joint development initiatives.
• Ensure product quality through effective Supply Chain management.

Skills and Experience:

• Experience in supplier negotiation and product delivery.
• Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills.
• Ability to influence and work independently.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Category-led Procurement experience (preferred).
• Proven track record of managing cost-saving projects.
