Our client is one of the UK’s leading food businesses. The food industry is very fast paced, demanding, and constantly developing, therefore the people the company looks to join them have a great personality and the drive to exceed the customers’ expectations.

A new vacancy has arisen to join the companies Farm Management Team. The role available is an Assistant Farm Manager and is situated in North Yorkshire – a more specific location is available on the application. The purpose of this post is to ensure the wellbeing and performance of the livestock and the upkeep of the whole site.

The Role:

· Maintain optimum environmental conditions to ensure bird welfare and biosecurity practices are maintained.

· Complete feeding, vaccinating and grading of the birds.

· Ensure site maintenance and general standards are met and completed.

· Supervise staff and third parties whilst on site, ensuring adherence to Health and Safety procedures.

· Comply with legislative and assurance scheme standards.

· Ensure that high standards of animal welfare, hygiene and husbandry practice are maintained.

· Covering in the Farm Manager’s absence

The Candidate

· Previous livestock experience, not necessarily poultry but an excellent stock person.

· NVQ/Diploma level 3 in Poultry production or similar Agriculture qualification is desirable but training bill be given.

· Need to have effective communication and people skills essential.

· Demonstrate a willingness to learn and self-motivation.

· Ability to work with minimal supervision and carry out manual duties.

· Basic IT skills

· Own transport is essential – you may be required to travel to different sites.

· Monday – Sunday: 6 days a week. 7:30am – 16:00pm
