ROLE

Reporting into the site Factory General Manager, this role is responsible for the Technical Governance of the Norfolk site through the implementation of robust systems for Food Safety, Integrity, Quality & Legality. As part of the site Leadership team the Technical Manager will lead and develop the technical team and work closely with the operations team to drive and improve site Food Safety & Quality performance. As the technical expert on site this role will be the key contact for Customer Technical teams and ensure the site develops and maintains an audit ready culture maintaining compliance with BRC and all Customer technical compliance standards. The Technical Manager will provide support to the NPD & production teams to ensure the effective delivery of new products. This role works closely with the Group Technical Compliance Manager to ensure consistency in approach across all sites and works with a dotted line of responsibility to the Technical Director.

CANDIDATE

Demonstrate experience in a Technical or Quality leadership role within the Food Manufacturing industry
Detailed understanding of M&S and Tesco Technical requirements
Ambient or chilled foods background
Direct experience of working with major UK retailers
Direct involvement in delivering BRC standard
HACCP team leader
Process management experience
Excellent communication skills – shop floor through to customers
Analytical thinking and problem solving skills
People skills including leadership, coaching, team building and communications
Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
Ability to drive and influence change
Ability to prioritise issues and balance work load
Results orientated
Produce work on time and to a high standard
High degree of perseverance when attempting to influence change
Ability to delegate effectively
BSc Food Science, Food Technology or equivalent
HACCP qualification
Leader Assessor trained
