Job Purpose (Reporting to General Manager)
To lead the onsite process service; providing the link between the Operational, Technical and New Product Development departments. Taking control of the critical path from the NPD department and engaging with all relevant stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition from development kitchen to full scale, factory production. Working with all departments to make continuous improvements to processes and re-engineering of products. To be customer facing on-site; Managing and developing a small process team.
Managing the planning and execution of all factory trials, ensuring trial objectives are met and recorded. Liaising with Planning, Production and Technical teams to schedule the trials.
To record and document the trials in accordance with the concept to launch process. Reporting any issues raised through the trials to the wider team.
Write full analytical, evidence based reports of trials with outcomes, findings and recommendations.
Attend feasibility and New Product Development meetings.
Meet with customers when they are on site.
Manage and develop the Process Team members.
Manage, run and document all delivery trials, conducting sensory panels with appropriate team members.
Update factory paperwork (specifications) for new product launches with information gathered from factory trials, reporting any changes to the relevant teams.
Liaise with the Training team to create standard operating procedures when processes change.
Write QAS documents in conjunction with Development Technologist and QA representative.
Attend site for product launches and oversee collection of samples; arrange despatch and delivery of samples.
Approach all work with continuous improvement in mind. Source and recommend, with specifications, new machinery.
Assist in the management and production of current factory specification changes, manage department sign off.
Any other duties as required commensurate with the post-holder’s skills and abilities.
You will have a proven track record in Food Manufacturing with good knowledge of HACCP, GMP and hygiene standards. You will be a team player with excellent attention to detail. You will be confident and assertive with strong communication skills at all levels.
