Role Overview:
As an Accounts Payable Officer, you will play a vital role in managing the company's payables, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, and maintaining strong vendor relationships. Your strong mathematical skills and attention to detail will contribute to the smooth operation of the finance department.
Responsibilities:
Process and verify incoming invoices, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies and procedures.
Match invoices with purchase orders and receipts, resolving discrepancies and issues as necessary.
Prepare and perform payment runs, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors and suppliers.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any billing discrepancies or payment issues.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable records, including proper documentation and filing systems.
Collaborate with internal departments to address inquiries, resolve payment-related issues, and provide necessary support.
Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
Maintain strong relationships with vendors, addressing inquiries and building positive rapport.
Assist in implementing process improvements and streamlining accounts payable procedures.
Stay updated on relevant accounting regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and enhance efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills:
A-levels in Mathematics, or a similar quantitative field, is required. GCSEs in Mathematics and English are also essential.
Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to accurately process financial transactions.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders.
