Warehouse Operative

Hours: 35 hours per week

About the Role

We are recruiting for a reliable and motivated Warehouse Operative to join a busy manufacturing and warehouse environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with warehouse experience, ideally within the food manufacturing sector, who enjoys working in a fast-paced, quality-focused environment.

You will play a key role in ensuring the efficient movement of goods, maintaining accurate stock control, and supporting production by ensuring products are received, stored, and dispatched safely and accurately. A strong commitment to health & safety, quality standards, and teamwork is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pick, pack and prepare orders accurately for dispatch.
  • Complete all dispatch documentation accurately.
  • Receive, process and store incoming stock, ensuring FIFO (First In, First Out) stock rotation is maintained.
  • Support the efficient management of inbound and outbound goods.
  • Carry out stock checks and inventory counts as required.
  • Confirm completed loads and report any discrepancies promptly.
  • Operate a Forklift Truck and other mechanical handling equipment safely.
  • Maintain high standards of warehouse housekeeping and cleanliness.
  • Help reduce non-conformances by following quality procedures and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Follow all health & safety, food safety and GMP procedures.
  • Undertake manual handling and lifting duties where required.
  • Report accidents, incidents, hazards and near misses in line with company procedures.
  • Support the wider production team and carry out additional duties as required.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Valid Forklift Truck (FLT) licence.
  • Previous warehouse experience.
  • Good level of written and spoken English.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads.
  • Reliable, punctual and committed to maintaining high standards.
  • Comfortable with manual handling and physical work.

Desirable:

  • Experience within a food manufacturing or food warehouse environment.
  • Understanding of Food Safety, GMP and quality procedures.
  • Experience using ERP or warehouse management systems.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Maths.
