Injection Mould Technician

DR Newitt is recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business looking to add an experienced Injection Moulding Technician to its growing production team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced injection moulding professional who enjoys a hands-on role with real responsibility. You'll play a key part in keeping production running efficiently, optimising processes, reducing waste, and supporting a small team to consistently deliver high-quality products.

• Rotating shifts:
  • Early Shift: 6:00am – 2:00pm
  • Back Shift: 2:00pm – 10:00pm

The Role

As an Injection Moulding Technician, you'll be responsible for ensuring production runs safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. You'll use your technical expertise to optimise machine performance, carry out tool changes, troubleshoot production issues and support operators on shift.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Performing safe and efficient tool changes to production schedules
• Setting and optimising injection moulding machines to maximise efficiency and product quality
• Troubleshooting process and machine issues to minimise downtime
• Carrying out basic machine and tooling maintenance
• Completing insert changes and supporting preventative maintenance activities
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity and reduce waste
• Assisting production when required to maintain output targets
• Preparing materials for production, including material mixing and dryer preparation
• Recording and reporting production and machine performance data
• Leading and supporting a small team of operators when required
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures

What We're Looking For

We're keen to speak with experienced Injection Moulding Technicians who can confidently work independently while also supporting colleagues on shift.

Ideally you'll have:

• Previous experience in an Injection Moulding Technician or Setter role
• Strong knowledge of injection moulding processes and machine setting
• Experience optimising processes across a range of materials
• Ability to diagnose faults and solve production issues quickly
• Experience carrying out basic machine and tooling maintenance
• Strong understanding of health and safety within a manufacturing environment
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Relevant injection moulding or machine setting qualifications

Leadership or supervisory experience would be advantageous, although it isn't essential.
