Factory Operations Manager

Job description

I’m recruiting for an established food manufacturer in Aberdeen that is entering an important period of growth and operational development.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership position with responsibility for the day-to-day performance of the factory.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director and sitting on the Senior Management Team, you’ll lead across Production, Engineering, Hygiene, Stores and Despatch, bringing these functions together around one clear operational plan.

The opportunity goes beyond simply maintaining the current operation. With plans to improve capacity utilisation and strengthen core factory performance, you’ll have genuine scope to influence how the site operates and develops.

You’ll already have a track record of improving performance within a food manufacturing operation, delivering production plans, improving productivity, labour efficiency, yield and waste, while reducing downtime and strengthening OTIF performance. You’ll know how to spot problems as they develop on the factory floor, put effective recovery plans in place and get Production, Engineering, Hygiene and other functions working together. Just as importantly, you’ll have experience developing managers and supervisors, creating greater accountability and building a culture where people take ownership of performance.

We’re particularly interested in speaking with experienced Factory Managers, Operations Managers and senior Production Managers from food manufacturing environments.

You’ll be someone who is comfortable being visible on the factory floor, understands the numbers behind operational performance and has the confidence to challenge, make decisions and drive action.

If you’ve already delivered this within food manufacturing and are looking for an opportunity where you can have a genuine influence on factory performance and its future development, I’d be keen to speak with you.
