Electrical Design/Engineering Manager – Solar & Battery Storage

The Opportunity
Our client is a fast-growing renewable energy developer specialising in commercial rooftop and utility-scale solar PV with battery storage. They are seeking an Electrical Design/Engineering Manager to lead their in-house design function, driving technical quality and compliance as the business continues to scale.

The Role
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll manage the design team, oversee external consultants, and ensure projects are delivered with technical accuracy and in line with industry standards. You’ll act as the go-to technical authority across the business, supporting project managers and installation teams, while also playing a key part in grid connection applications and client-facing technical discussions.

What You’ll Bring

• Strong background in electrical design for solar PV and/or battery projects

• Knowledge of UK grid connection standards (G99/G100)

• Experience leading teams or mentoring junior engineers

• Confident using design software such as AutoCAD or PV*Sol

• A collaborative, solution-focused approach with excellent communication skills
