Production Supervisor

Pay: £33,000.00 - £36,000.00 per year

Department: Manufacturing
Reporting To: Head of Manufacturing
Location: Kent

Role Overview

The Production Assistant Manager supports the day-to-day running of manufacturing operations, ensuring production is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.

This role combines team leadership with hands-on involvement in production processes and equipment. The successful candidate will oversee operations, support problem-solving on the shop floor, and help maintain consistent output within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Head of Manufacturing in the daily management of production operations
  • Supervise production activities to ensure output, quality, and efficiency targets are met
  • Lead and support production teams to maintain safe and effective working practices
  • Oversee the operation of production equipment and processes
  • Identify and help resolve operational or process issues to minimise disruption
  • Ensure production aligns with agreed plans and schedules
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, housekeeping, and compliance
  • Ensure accurate completion of production records and documentation
  • Carry out in-process checks to maintain product quality
  • Support training and development of production staff
  • Work cross-functionally to improve processes, efficiency, and performance
  • Support implementation and adherence to quality and safety standards

Skills and Experience

  • Experience supervising or supporting manufacturing or production teams
  • Exposure to production processes and equipment
  • Background in manufacturing environments such as food, pharmaceutical, or similar industries is beneficial
  • Strong problem-solving skills and practical mindset
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and support teams
  • Good organisational and communication skills

Education

  • Secondary education or equivalent
  • Relevant vocational or technical qualifications are advantageous
